Summer Associates
Richmond Promise Near-Peer Summer Associates are current college students who help advance RP’s mission by offering critical support to current high school and middle school students as well as incoming college freshmen.
Among their many responsibilities, Summer Associates assist with building early college awareness among middle school summer school students in Richmond/West Contra Costa through near-peer college and career conversations. Associates also provide important support in working to ensure a successful high school to college transition for new Richmond Promise scholarship recipients. This work is done through assisting with a series of summer success workshops and one one-on-one peer advising. And, Summer Associates play a key role in scholarship operations by assisting RP staff with the renewal process.
