Meet Our Near-Peer Ambassadors: Anjelika Khadka
During the 2023-24 school year, the Richmond Promise College Access Team will be joined in its work by Near-Peer Ambassadors. These members of our team are current RP Scholars who assist in the execution of in-classroom programming in local high schools. We are pleased to introduce you to one of our 2023-24 Ambassadors, Anjelika.
Q: First, some basic info. Tell us your name, current school, high school you graduated from and your major (or intended field of study).
A: My name is Anjelika Khadka and I am currently a sophomore at UC Davis. I graduated from De Anza High School and my area of study is pre-law.
Q: What are you most looking forward to about being a RP Near-Peer Ambassador and what are you hoping to get from the experience?
A: I am looking forward to giving back to students. These students grew up in the same city I grew up in, where we lacked lots of opportunities. Helping these kids will be very rewarding to me.
Q: If you were going to give advice to a high school senior about going through the college application process, what would it be?
A: A piece of advice I would give to a high school senior about going through the college application process would be to start early. The earlier you start, the less stress you have later on when the deadline comes.
Q: What’s the best part about being in college/what should a high school senior look forward to?
A: Best part about being in college is getting to pick classes and schedule according to your work and home life.
Q: What are you most looking forward to after college?
A: After college I am looking forward to getting my law degree.
