Life on Campus: UC Santa Barbara edition
Richmond Promise Marketing & Communications intern Nayeli Del Mundo is currently in her first year at UC Santa Barbara. After spending two years at Contra Costa College, the adjustment to UCSB has brought plenty of new experiences and new methods of supporting herself away from home.
Her experience and growth process is similar to that of countless other Richmond Promise Scholars studying across the country. In the below graphic and passage, Nayeli shares a few resources that she has found helpful during her transition.
Starting my junior year as a transfer at a new college campus has been both extremely exciting and overwhelming. As I’ve explored and gotten to know UCSB’s campus better, I’ve found places that have helped me feel supported, at home and have shaped my college experience in a positive way. This graphic highlights some of my personal on-campus favorites and go to’s, from food spots to places where I study, rest and find community. I wanted to share what’s been super helpful in my experiences in hopes it can support another Richmond Promise Scholar who will be attending college or are even transfers like me! College hasn’t just been the amazing education I am receiving but it has made me realize that finding the right places on campus is what truly makes my college experience. These places shown have been the ones that have made a difference for me.
