Richmond Promise welcomed the community to Civic Center Plaza on August 3, 2024 to celebrate the newest cohort of RP Scholars with the organization’s annual Scholar Celebration. UC Berkeley-bound Scholar and Kennedy High grad Aleks Haynes delivered this year’s Scholar address, Contra Costa County Supervisor John Gioia and Richmond City Councilmember Cesar Zepeda also provided words of encouragement and support, and U.S. Representative John Garamendi provided a video message that went out to Scholars over social media.
