CCC First Year Experience

The First Year Experience was created specifically to support Richmond Promise Scholars attending Contra Costa College. The components of the First Year Experience are: 

Math Jam:

A one-week math program designed to develop knowledge, skills and confidence for not only their math classes, but overall academic success. 

Cohort Experience:

Career exploration & transfer success courses. 

Transfer Services:

Early connection and advisement to prepare students for transferring to 4-year universities and their careers. 

Near Peer College Success Coaching:

Access to dedicated point-person to support college success. 

CCC Richmond Promise Scholars must participate in the First Year Experience or another learning community, such as the Puente Project or Per Ankh, as a requirement to receive their scholarship. Richmond Promise is currently building and formalizing partnerships with colleges and universities across the country to provide support for Richmond Promise Scholars.
